Mike: I think the point was that the Focus Rally Car has no AWD + boosted counterpart, at least in the US of A, that anyone could go out and buy vs. the WRX and the EVO which both come with AWD + boost from factory.

However, Focus and 206 (if you count the Hyundai Accent as well) do not have anything on the street that come close to its WRC counterpart. But who am I to judge them
My comments were more like a vant
This is from the last paragraph in that Autoweek article, read it carefully!!
Dealers got a peek at the PRODUCTION TRIM in Las Vegas in July, but we’ll all have to wait until January to see the REAL CAR when it debuts at the Los Angeles auto show.
Real car????? Maybe those ARE spy shots of a 7 w/ the necessary parts for testing from the 8 like someone was saying??? I think the Las Vegas shots do look a little different.

Shut up fool. I wanted an EVO when you were in dipers. The newest versions of the EVO are bad because they are no longer based on the rally car. If you were "hardcore" you would know the EVO 6.5 is the last EVO.

The car that was at the show was a 7 with a body kit. But then, to some extent that is all the body is. What I am not sure about is whether the final shape is now decided, or whether the show car was a pre production shape to gauge reaction. I am told that theshape of the US front end will be different from the Jap domestic one because of the crash test rules.

If you were hardcore, you would have known that by the time the 6.5 TME had come out that the Ralliart team had special dispensation to basically run the grp a car in WRC format. This meant that they were using WRC suspension, drivetrain etc but a grp a engine.
So, using your theory, the 6 was the last true Evo. However, we all know that is a load of BS and that if you think that any standard road going Evo is anything like a grp a car, you really do know as little about cars as I think you do.
