I have had the Fiber Images CF hood for the past 7 years and absolutely loved it , fitment and how well it held up.

My son just had an accident on the Evo so I need a new hood and since the trunk is still CF I am leaning towards replacing the hood with another CF hood, preferably OEM shape just CF.

And since Fiber Images are no longer around I was hoping that someone could point me towards a good quality CF hood.

 

I would try to find another aluminum hood if I were you. They're low in weight and could be cheaper than trying to source a cf piece. Otherwise look into Seibon.

 

I think all evo 9 hoods are aluminum, at least my ssl was. I did went with the seibon cf hood but i think the over all quality is okay. Definitely not perfect and have to do minor things to it to fit right. Also was able to put the stock hood vent and hood insulation on instead of the funky looking seibon one.

The cheap CF hoods might be a pound or two lighter if not almost equal in weight to the stock hood

Maybe a Seibon dry carbon hood? Theres a few JDM companys that make a good hood but might be hard to track down and/or get. If you want the lightest most badass hood I've seen contact Slowmotion Motorsports they made skins that are pretty sturdy and said they were going to start selling them when I talked to them at the Shootout but I haven't seen anything yet.

 

I would get the Dry Carbon from Seibon since its lighter then the stock hood
