TBE help

Hello all, long time lurker (3+ years) and I know with most exhaust threads most say "search" but I have and haven't quite found the answer that I'm looking for (Been searching past 3 days).

I'm looking for options for a TBE that is complete, will fit JDM rear with no modifications, fits at an angle rather than straight through, burnt tip, has an o2 fix, and has a silencer if a package like this even exists.

I've looked and looked, and can't seem to find a package like this. The closest I've found is the ETS TBE but it doesn't come with a silencer and the Megan TBE, but it looks straight through and have read it doesn't fit JDM rear at all.

I live in a rural area so shops are either non-existent or not very skilled so I'd prefer one that is direct bolt on with no modifications that will fit JDM rear but also comes with a silencer and preferably with a burnt tip and sits at an angle. HOWEVER, I will settle with one without a burnt tip or angled.

Thank you in advance for any advice, I appreciate it.

Buy a megan with CEL fix and burnt tip and have a muffler shop cut it to fit JDM. Don't forget, exhaust is just tubing at the end of the day, and exhaust work is cheap at a good shop.

This is what I was planning on doing but all the posts I saw weren't very descriptive in what modifications it needed to fit (I was just assuming cut). And one post said the hangars needed to be cut and re-wielded and a bunch of other stuff. Kind of scared me away from that path...

There is pretty much no good shops where I live

Would it be easy enough for even an incompetent shop to do? If it's just cutting some of the exhaust out and re-wielding it I think I'd be fine, but if hangars needed to be cut and re-wielded also, I have no idea.

The megan exhaust comes off at an angle, and since the canister is what is hitting the bumper, you need to move that back. Also the hangers are welded to the canister and right before it to the exhaust pipe, if you shorten the pipe, the hangers are no were near the body mounting points anymore, and keep in mind one of the hangers is in the wheel well pretty close to the upper control arm... so you most certainly have to reposition the hangers, especially if you want the exhaust to fit properly to the bumper.

Also, I didn't just cut a straight section out either, I had to but some bend in there for everything to get all back together 100% perfect fitment..... I'll post a pic when I find mine.

Yes it was a decent amount of work to get it to fit, but it fits very very well.

This is the post I read that scared me from going the Megan route, which disappointed me a little because I had a Megan on my GSX and loved it but don't want to take a chance at an incompetent shop doing a poor job unless it's something that they couldn't manage to mess up.

Any decent welder can do it, ask around I'm sure you can find a shade tree guy that can do it no problem.

If money isn't an issue, the Tomei Expreme Ti is what your looking for. I have that exhaust on my Evo and it fits pretty much all of your criteria but it isn't cheap by any means.

Tomei Expreme is what you want. Comes with the mad tight jdm yo angle, burnt tip, and silencer.
o2 fix will have to be with an aftermarket test pipe with a CEL adapter.

Costs a nice $1000. But one of the best in the market next to Greddy Ti.

Like someone said if you buy it from buschur they sell it to fit with a Jdm Bumper no cutting and welding needed.

.

I have a Blitz Nur Spec TBE w/ resonated test pipe.

It doesn't have a burnt tip but it's JDM, comes with a silencer (which I don't have or ever used on mine) and I think it's not too hard to get it adjusted to fit JDM rear?

AMS no longer lists the TBE on their website but you can find some USDM here and there on other vendor websites. I have the AMS USDM version and contacted them about the mods required for JDM. They said for about $110 and shipping cost they would install it in their jig and make it compatible for a JDM bumper so probably cheaper to go to a muffler shop. I'm not sure if they will still do this since I asked over a year ago and they seem to be all about the GTR now.

Also, AMS has a silencer, just not included in their packages.

My 0.02, contact ETS and see if they will make you a silencer to go with their exhaust.
