Need help

Hello everyone!

Every time I turn my Evo on it wants to turn off. If I stop too quickly it will turn off as well. I was told it is a throttle body problem, I'm hoping someone has some information about this.

Thanks a lot

Jay

do you have any more information regarding this issue? Do you have an AFR gauge ?Could be something simple like a boost leak.

I don't have an AFR Gauge, my friend was driving the car and he rev'd till it the rpm maxed out and he heard a pop. After that when the car is cold and I want to turn it on, it will turn off if I don't keep the idle at 3. When I'm at a traffic light the idle goes up and down and if I turn the AC on it will turn off more often. Thats basically what happened lol

I bet lunch money on a busted coupler. Boost leak test. Learn it. And Live it if you want to keep driving your Evo!

I checked the coupler it was fine. I changed the MAP sensor and the car idles fine most of the time. I still have the problem when I slow down and clutch and then the car turns off. The idle is still going up and down but not as much since I changed the MAP sensor. The idle goes from 900rpm - 1300rpm.

At times its fine the idle sits at 1100 and the car sounds fine. It has its moments I guess.
