SS Autochrome/XS Power O2 Dump Review

Recently XS Power has developed their very own O2 Dump for the Evolution 8 & 9. As soon as I found out about it, I had to order one and see for myself. I've had a few products from their company in the past, including a few intercoolers, intercooler piping and their test pipe which all ended up having excellent welds and fulfilled all of my performance needs, all at an excellent price.

Since my Tomei O2 housing ended up being stripped, I went ahead and ordered the newly developed XS Power O2 Dump which has excellent welds, included a gasket, and excellent threads that weren't terrible like my TOMEI. The install was fairly straight forward, I went ahead and pulled the exhaust manifold and installed it that way.

The fitment was spot on and worked perfectly with my aftermarket lower intercooler pipe. The shipping of the dump only took around 3 days and showed up at my house very quickly. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I am very impressed with the fitment, welds and sound of my new dump!

Contact XS Power/ SS Autochrome if you're interested in one, their first batch is almost sold out!

How much do they run for? Is there a link to their website to buy?

$160 from what I've seen. Companies like this kill the US Fab Market...

They are building these dumps from super cheap material & paying welders peanuts to make them...

I can't tell if it's an optical illusion or if the downpipe flange really isn't perpendicular to the donut gasket pipe.

Funny thing is, this new product was made in the USA, and the welds are perfect. If you're looking for an alternative to the $240 Muse Dump or $350 MAP dump, look no further.

I HIGHLY doubt this was made in the US. I know what the material & labor costs are to build a proper 02 Dump. There isn't a welder in the country that would be willing to sit there and build these all day & get paid peanuts so they can sell them at $160 & still make a profit.

I'm not saying the welds look bad & I don't care what anyone spends their money on. As mentioned before, products like this kill the US fab. Market. No way this is made in the US, it's made overseas from cheap materials while paying some poor dude peanuts & then shipped over in a container full of other XS Power parts...

Hey now, maybe they tack on the logo when it comes in so they can call it 'Made in the US'

^ Wrong... do the math on flange, piping, and fabrication cost with quality materials, trust me to turn a profit you would have to charge $400+

How do I know, my buddy R/TErnie and I were one of the first people to develop a quality O2 dump for this platform and after we weighed how much materials were and what people were willing to pay, we bowed out...

Cliffs: EVOM is a bunch of lowballing, I want stuff for the cheapest price and don't care where its made, no loyalty to a company/shop cause you can get it $.50 cheaper online type douchebaggery

Very true. I have a good friend who runs a Fabrication shop and the price of quality, US made material (not even considering labor) was eye-opening to me. It makes it easy to tell who is using what almost exclusively based on prices. I had him make me a recirc O2 downpipe, but he also decided to not put it in production based on what people in this market "think things should cost". It's disappointing to see what metrics this market and the entire community as a whole is starting to use when they purchase parts.
