fp red or precision 5858
I'm currently making 448whp 363wtq on 92oct. My current setup is an fpred with stock ported exhaust and intake manifold, ets 3.5 intercooler short route piping, 65mm tb, gsc s2 cams, fic 1050cc injectors map 02 dump full 3" tbe. I'm trying to decide on whether to keep this setup or go for the ets kit with a 5858 turbo. I'm trying to make 550whp and eventually more.
What are your goals? 550whp is going to be a hard push on a stock motor. Where you're at now is relatively safe in terms of a stock motor. 550whp on a stock motor is a "I'm planning on building my motor so I'm going to run this one until it blows up" setup

You can make 550whp on a stock block and not have worries of it letting loose as long as your torque is kept conservative. I made 550/380 on a HTA3582 setup. I did an ARP rod bolt upgrade and new bearings install which in my opinion is a nice upgrade if you plan to keep the shortblock stock for an extended period of time. I switched to a 5858 setup in May to **** my tuner off because i like to do things against the grain. Its sitting right close to 450 on a Mustang Dyno. With a ported head and s3 cams I dont see any reason why you cant get around 480-490 out of a 5858 on a Mustang Dyno.
More displacement would help. I'm still in 9.change:1 CR with my 2.2L, with a good head I am right at 549 at 28psi (E85). Once I move my injectors up to 1650s in the spring time, I plan on trying to capture a 6-7 more psi out of the Red.
