Evolution ix crank upgrade

So I want to rebuild my engine but leave it 2.0 . I want to replace the crank with something that can be more durable than the stock one and new pistons. This will be kinda like my first build. I just don't want to go wrong . Any help on make a new 2.0

The stock crank is very strong, good for 1000hp. Just get it linished and dynamically balanced and you'll be good to go.

Edit:Sorry but get Manley I beams or equivalent rods and some Wiseco pistons. You could even go a 156mm rod and do a 2.0 Long Rod.

Do This^^^ Manley does make some good cranks--don't know if they are stock stroke or not, I just bumped up to 94mm and got it over with.

If you want to upgrade your head, send it to PortFlow Design. Tom knows his ish.

Also, you can do lots of stuff to that OEM crank and have it still cost less than a high-end aftermarket unit...if you're so inclined.

You are asking some very basic questions, which is fine...everyone needs to start somewhere.

However, I think you need to do a lot more research before making a purchasing decision because even if we give you advice, you won't know if it's good or not.

You need to take your block to a reputable machine shop, unless you can do the work yourself. And just because someone says they can do it, doesn't mean they should or could.

Personally, I took my engine block to Ed Pink Racing Engines to get it machined. But they're not cheap. Then again, they're top of the line.

Are you also considering doing anything to strengthen your drivetrain? The 4G63 is known to put up with more abuse on stock internals than the transmission. Just a thought. It would suck to do an awesome engine build and then have transmission issues.
