Timing belt
Timing belt
Hi guys I had a new gates belt replaced yesterday.my question is regarding the colour. I've opened the bonnet today and had a look at the belt and it looks exactly the same as the old one.the new belt was black and this looks brown like the old one.can the belt lose its colour within one day,it have I been conned and the belt not been replaced?
Thanks
Thanks
I would hand spin the engine with upper timing cover off and look for the gates logo and part numbers on the belt. They should still look brand new after only a day. If you see nothing or anything else then you know you got screwed.
