The FML thread!

FML! my kind of luck

My wife just bought me my rexpeed side skirts and jdm rear extensions. I should have known once you buy something for your car. There is something about to go wrong!

Driving like normal and when I am ready to press the gas a little more, no more boost. No sounds prior, no issues moving (still drives but 0 boost) vacuum still moves on boost gauge.

I hear 0 intake vacuum when trying to go 70-80% WOT. I haven't done any major diagnosis like boost leak or check for shaft play as of yet. I literally just got home pissed off.

So here is what was happening, driving fine all day until half an hour ago on the Parkway doing about 65-75mph, not getting on it. I try to push it because of slow drivers on the left lane and I notice I am not getting any boost or car isn't moving along as it should. I can still drive but only going from -25vac~ to 0 on my boost gauge.

No noticeable noise before that. If a clamp popped off, it is usually loud and obvious. I have checked them and doesn't look like that is my issue. I am idling fine but a noticeable groan in my exhaust and no noticeable intake vacuum if i rev it.

Besides the pros of upgrading turbo, I had other maintenance things that were up next in line. So even bigger FML!

Could be worse. Car was down for about a year rebuilding the motor. (melted piston on a 3k mile motor) got it back and tuned.

Someone then hit the car while it was parked about an hour after getting it back. Now 2 weeks later I'm getting a nasty misfire under boost.

This car hates me.

That sounds pretty shiitty hiboost.

Bought this car at 116k. Now has 140k mainly highway miles since feb2012. 90% of the time in my garage when not out.

Small things happen every time I try to fix it or clean it up.

Rad leaked 2 months ago, fixed that 3 weeks ago and now turbo is probably shot. I had my van redone within that 2 month frame, paid 2k in repairs and magically a solenoid wire got cut clean with no rhyme or reason. I am picking it up from a friend on thanksgiving.

I wonder what happens from here. I really am about to get it fixed then trade it in. Buy a house then I'll pick up a very immaculate built evo for original msrp.

Lost soul - I don't run an under panel so I did a quick look over at all couplings and tbolt clamps. Can't spot any visible issues.

I feel bad for you guys. Hope things get better.

The only issues I ever have is my intercooler couplers like to blow off. I will soon be replacing them though. All stock plumbing on 126k miles lol
