Evo 9 no fog lights, what are options?

I do not have fog lights but the headlight housing has these inner "domes" (furthest to the left). What's the point of them? Has anyone done anything with these? Any modifications that can be done to use this location? I assume it's just a reflector?

What model is your car, I see it's a IX but which one? The IX MR and SE's I believe it was had the fog lights in that location you're talking about. Here's a "how to" thread for installing fog lights into models without them: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...og-lights.html

Not certain which exact model I have. I think it's a GSR. Thanks for the link, found some good info.

Well if you don't have HID headlights odds are you have a GSR. Hopefully you can work something out with some of the info in that thread

That is pretty sweet. Old posts, wonder if anyone still makes the duct piece.

Well I'm from Australia and I was actually talking to a reputable evo smash repairer about the scoop in the headlight cause there was a customer who did the scoop on evo 8MR headlights.

He said that there was a company who did make them but they discontinued the product pretty quick cause there was no sales. He does all the work himself custom and he quoted me about $650 AU per headlight.

Ouch, not that cool. Just for the duct and still significant labor to install. Probably why the idea didn't take off.

Yeah exactly! For a street driven car, putting a duct on the driver's side (for US) or passenger for (for us JDM evos) it is pretty worthwhile because the filter is right behind the headlight and it does see some benefits (also does look pretty cool).

However for a dedicated track evo theres no point because why would you have headlights any way lol, might as well get the carbon fibre headlight covers.

I mean if you've got the tools/skills and willing to chop up a spare headlight it doesnt hurt to try! I'm sure there's a tutorial on here somewhere haha

It is possible to put foglights in the headlight but you have to disassemble the whole headlight housing, cut out the foglight opening and mount a foglight in there.
Its a lot of work if you know what you are doing but it is worth it. There are the only pics i have of mine.

I personally loved these asymmetrical headlight/foglight converted intake ducts on the CT9A.
Great looking and functional!

So if you have good handwork skills and comfortable with DIY, check it out!:
