Anyone drive a fully stock Evo?
Original owner IX here. A couple years after purchasing I had it re-flashed by WORKS to get rid of the high-rpm boost taper, but that's it. THIS, in my opinion, is how the car should have come from the factory. I even enjoy the stock exhaust (now that I'm old).
This car is the first car I really felt was perfect in (near) stock form, which keeps me from modifying it despite the relative ease of making more power. The quest for more power is never ending, usually resulting in countless trade-offs and regret.
That being said, I have almost 130K miles on the car. I drive it as it was intended ("spirited"), but don't abuse it. And outside of normal maintenance (consumables, fluids, timing belts, etc) it has been the most reliable car I've ever owned.
And I'm still on the original clutch, which has no signs of slipping. I think the key to these cars is respect what they are and what they aren't, and keep your expectations of the cars realistic.
Cheers!

That is how USDM EVO should had came from factory
Bought it at 50k miles, kept it stock for another 10k to see how it felt in stock form. It was actually nice after taking it to two long road trips. It isn't super quick as newer cars but it was still fun.
But I couldn't resist the modding scene. I just recently installed most bolt-ons and tuned for e85... I don't think I can go back. I don't plan to go crazy, so my last remaining mods will probably be s1 cams, spoolinUp, and new clutch ones the stock ones start slipping. I'm working on the aesthetics now, got my jdm bumper ordered, will get new coilovers and wheels once its not freezing outside.
I'm planning to use it as my DD as long as possible.
After that, I'll finally get to fixing up my Eagle Talon that's been sitting for a decade+...

I've never had an Evo 8 or 9, but a bone stock Evo 3 is pretty slow and limp.
If I had an Evo 9, I'd put front and rear LSDs in, ACD tuning, intake, fancy exhaust, intercooler piping, reflash with more boost, put some RE71Rs on the stock wheels and call it a day.
