I've just put another 3 coats of plastidip clear across my front bumper, I also did the back of the door mirrors for about 5 coats. WTF am I doing this I hear you say well its my experiment on road rash resistance, I previously had about 5 coats of plastidip clear on the bumper and I just wanted to reinforce with another 3 coats or until the can ran out on top, probably got almost 4 coats, bring it up to almost 9 coats of clear across the front bumper, the previous 5 coats were holding out ok but there were a few little nicks I could see from impacts, so I'll be interested to see how this goes. The mirrors also had taken a few impacts so now they at least have some form of protection on them. I've got a tarmac black that I am trying to protect without going the 3M route so far so good. Also having a matt bumper and mirrors dont really make it look better, so dont do it for that, this is just my weekender and track car that I am trying to keep in good condition.

Did some plasti-dip on my bike a couple years ago. Looks great.... at first. Take caution with rocks and such any minor scrapes or rips can quickly grow. My jacket zipper rubbed a small spot on the tank and became an issue almost overnight.
