boost leak test issues...

ok guys so i finally did a boost leak test correctly and found that after 10 - 15 psi air gushes out of the bov and it becomes pretty hard to pump more air in there because itll leak fast...its a tial bov...im on a stock turbo spiking 29 psi...i figure this is the reason why boost tapers down to 22 psi quick...i bought the car with it so i have no idea what spring is in it or what not...my question is how can i fix this? is the bov trash or is it the spring thats in it thats too soft? if its the spring what psi spring should i put in it for the boost thats going through it and where do i get it? would really appreciate if you guys would give me your opinions as i would like to resolve this issue and get boosting...thx guys......

edit: when i do my boost leak test i leave everything the way it is and put the tester on the turbo...im on speed density...i dont open the throttle body...i was wondering if it was normal since the throttle body is closed the bov dumps the air like when you let off the gas? my tuner says it doesnt matter...it should leak either way...it makes sense to me that with tb open there is less resistance because air is going through which is why when you let off and tb closes the bov dumps the excess air...hes a very smart guy, im not saying hes wrong but does this make sense to yall?

doesnt matter, if it leaks with it closed/open then it leaks. what bov is that and what are you tuned for? might be time to get a new one.

its a tial qr bov and im tuned on sd...im gonna take it apart tomorrow and check out the diaphram to see if anything visually sticks out...i thought maybe the spring but after checking out the tial spring chart i realized that you choose the spring depending on how much vacuum your car pulls at idle so it should have nothing to do with the leaking issue...that sucks...these things are expensive man...

I just re-read your post. It sounds like a torn diaphragm or O-ring torn or not seated right. Mine did the same thing under a boost leak test and I had to replace the o ring on the flange.

I see...I thought the oring was there so the flange wouldn't leak...I will take it apart today and see what I find...do they sell parts for this or do I have to buy a new one?

appreciate the advice man but for $150 I think I'll just save and buy new...now I've been searching and they sell the diaphragm separately but I think I have an old style one...gotta find it...

Is it just the diaphragm? Here's a link for 50 bucks for the old style one. http://www.extremepsi.com/store/home.php?cat=390
