EvoVIII hood

I currently have a carbon fiber hood for my evo8 but the previous owner of my car didn't take care of it and it is all faded and cracked. Anyone know where I can find a hood? Preferably not carbon fiber. I thought about vinyl wrapping it but I would rather just have one I can paint.

Are the cracks into the weave or just in the clear coat? If it's just in the clear/gel coat you can sand that off and re-clear it and it'll look like new...

They could just be in the clear coat but we did try and wet sand and buff it and it didn't make any difference.

You have to sand it down to the weave then clear coat it. If you don't remove all the clear coat and gel coat its just gonna continue to fade. With that said, you'll need clear coat with UV inhibitor in it.

Yeah I would really rather just have a different hood. I don't like the look of the hood pins it came with.

Whatever works. I'm sure someone would buy the one you have even in the shape it's in.

Paint it, mine is getting done right now. Might have to do some searching to find someone willing to do it.
