I sold my Evo X and bought a 2007 335i (n54 twin turbo version) with intent of modding. (Down pipes, intake, intercooler pipes + JB4 tune 50/50 mix E85).

Never modded it because I looked at the price of parts on top of there there wasn't any tuners around me that could tune the N54 platform. I wanted some one who was familiar with it. Its still being used but nothing done to it except the exhaust flapper delete for a louder exhaust. THe N54/N55 platform is amazing the stock interals can hold a decent amount of power, the automatic transmission can hold a lot of power as well, AND the JB4 2 step is ****ing INSANE with down pipes and cat back, but when **** starts breaking you better have the $$$. The Evo is the same but the parts are cheaper and much easier to work on.

I bought an Evo IX for modding. I mad a good choice.

 

if u make the switch, you'll forget how to use turn signals. Its not good.
