Hey every one, I just picked up a 400whp EVO8 with something either missing on the EVAP system or its completely removed (not sure). Unfortunately for me where I live I have to pass emissions so I have to figure something out to trick/hack the code P0455 (EVAP large leak) from showing up and giving me a CEL.

I've searched and can't find any info on this, is there any way to make the ecu think the EVAP system is still good even if its not?

Search the ECU Flash forum (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ecuflash-179/) for how to disable the codes or look up a competent tuner in your area.

 

They will give you a hard time. They will check for a cat. and might give you a hard time for missing EGR valve. I ended up going into the "back of the yards" facility. should go when is packed also. In the inner city, they are more relaxed than in the burbs. Make sure your light is not on.

 

He is right. I took it to AMS https://www.amsperformance.com/cart/...-Evo-X-10.html but they are expensive and need to leave the car there. Long waiting list last time I called. For maintenance when I don't feel like working on my car I take it to RC Autoworks in Bridgeview. http://www.rcautoworks.com/ Good luck, I am having the same problem but I want to fix it myself this time.

 

So glad Minnesota doesn't do emission testing.

Running no cats, EGR deleted, EVAP canister deleted... id fail in a hear beat.

yes there should be an ecu bit that you can turn off on ecuflash, you need the .openport cable tho.

 

Ahh ok, I was thinking about buying the openport cable anyways. Definitely worth the money even if its just to pass emissions.
