Can I ask why you wouldn't go with a tactrix cable along with evoscan? Would do the same thing plus more for you in the future.

good idea, I'm new to the tuning scene and need to set that up but I was also thinking for my DD cars I could use the OBD2 also

I would say stick with the Tactrix as far as the Evo is concerned, as you'll be able to do way more with it that the obd2 reader, plus more.

I understand the need for daily driver cars as well, so that might be the route where the obd2 reader helps you in that department, but I'd get the Tactrix for the Evo.
