NEW MEMBER NEW EVO 9 OWNER :)
Sam: Thanks bro and we got twin evos! lol I will baby this and take very well care of it as i plan on owning it for awhile. Driving manual on this was so easy to learn. Love it. Love the manual world now lol
Evotech: Thanks bro. I'm just worried about the car not being stolen or some low life will try to ruin my dream as i am waiting to get an alarm system on it. Yeah i understand what you mean about finding one clean and close to stuck. These cars prices will continue to go up and my parents never understood me that the money i paid for it now, was the same i would've paid 8 years ago when i was shopping for one. Funny, how the value never went down on these? If it is for sale at the dealerships, unfortunately we have to pay for what they want or else some other wealthier guy will grab it from us. lol
Just remember to enjoy her and not be in a constant state of paranoia. Also then go crazy and call attention to yourself too much, that's where I see that the "haters" will start targeting
Yeah that's exactly I feel! That's why you need a garage to keep that baby in lol.

Sil'vr: Thanks and will do bro soon. I know the stealing rate for these cars are high here in Chicago. Any great alarm systems preferably with gps tracking you or others recommend? I'd love to locate the smart *** that will try to jack my ride lol
Yeah, you can try. And one day you find yourself thinking, "maybe I can enhance the ride a little"
And then it's a slipperly slope down to a 400 whp, dark tints, black powder coated BBS wheels and the suspension upgraded with coilovers and rear sway bar.
And then you realize you have a black on black on black beast roaming the streets of Chicago. It's a nice feeling
Have fun with the Evo OP

Cleon: That is my plan for now as i need money to work on this car. Which is why i am calling it a project.
Wacob: That is one sexy black evo in Chicago lol. You are right, the temptation is always there lol. Max i want to go is 400HP but im not sure about lowering the ride cuz chicago streets are horrible. Now imagine, i get tints on my evo and we meet up, put our rides together and we'd make one hell of a wallpaper. It will be like having two dark nights lmao
. But thank you bro. How you get away with dark tints here in Chi? lol

. But thank you bro. How you get away with dark tints here in Chi? lolDark tints are usually not a problem in Chicago. Cops are too busy trying to bust up gangs to really care about non-moving violations. Its the dark tints in the suburbs that I get issues with occasionally.
One cop in Mt Prospect gave me a warning and another in Arlington Heights gave me a $20 ticket after he pulled me over for them.
In fact, speeding in general isn't a problem in the city, just keep your Waze on and don't be a complete idiot (and yes, watch for the potholes). Speeding in the suburbs is a whole different story, esp if you have a louder exhaust.
Also, do you have your front license plate? I know a front license plate looks bad on the evo but you WILL get a front license plate ticket from the meter maids if you park on Chicago streets. After they check to see if you paid the meter, they will also check to see if you have a front license plate.
And lastly, this is obvious but don't park overnight outside in Chicago. You are asking for trouble. I did that and got my rims stolen. I recovered them (long story) but I was one of the very lucky few.

If you really want to baby it, do your Evo a favor and never drive it in Chicago from Dec 1st, to Mar 1st. Also don't ever launch it, and always shift gears smooth and slowly. This way your 6 speed trany will last. These are my tips.
You picked up a really nice car.

Thanks for the compliment.

Wacob: Damn man consider yourself lucky, cuz that ticket is very expensive lol. I live in the burbs so i do have to worry about speeding and tints level lol. And i do have a front plate, because i am tired of having cops having a probable cause to pull you over. While other domestic cars, they let them go for no front plates. Since we drive imports, it is a problem. And i will never park my car in chicago or downtown. Some actually tried stealing my acura so i will never drive that car there.
Psi: Thank you and will do lol
Cts4g63: Hell yeah it is an amazing feeling. This evo is probably going to be the best car i have ever driven in my life. Unless if i get a r35, but still...lol..an evo is an evo and im glad i own a piece of the legend
