Painted intercooler *help!*

So I just purchased a VIII Evo and the owner before me spray painted "Evo" on the ****ing intercooler and completely ruined the look and disrespected the car imo, does anyone know what I can do to either remove the paint or paint a nice silver coat over it to cover it up. Here is a picture I had on my computer from the front of the car showing the intercooler. Any help and options would be great

If I was you, I'd remove the intercooler and use a paint stripper

Go to a parts store and get aircraft paint stripper, use a spray bottle, spray over the painted area, let it soak then pressure was the intercooler. Should take care of it pretty easily.

It looks better than a sticker on the windshield.

if you're going to take the fmic off to paint it, paint it silver. Or you could just buy a nice kit from vrsp, depending if its stock or not

Do you plan on modifying your evo? If so, now is the time to pickup a new intercooler. It's going to be a ton of work to strip the paint off your old intercooler and chances are you're going to have paint between the fins that you can't get to.

Check out our site - www.ExtremeTurboSystems.com - We have a ton of different options available.

Thanks,

Michael

I would just upgrade or buy a stock one for cheap and get rid of the painted one

like stated i used a aerosol stripper to get the ets off my intercooler. I took the bumper off went to a car wash and sprayed it down let it sit for 5 min then power washed it right off.

Normal Paints will also reduce the effectiveness of transferring heat from the IC to the air.
