Evo Maf help

My idle sounds like I have after market cams and it sounds like the car is missing and smells rich.

If I disconnect the maf and hold the revs (otherwise drops to 300rpm) using TB engine sounds smooth and normal.

Can I assume it's the Maf at fault?

im sure if you keep the MAF plugged and hold the throttle it would stay consistant too?.. perform a boost leakdown test, sounds like you have a big vacuum leak, if that checks out, take your UICP off, and look to see if your throttle body/ intake manifold are clean.

If I leave the Maf plugged in and and hold the rpm steady it misses, lumpy idle like crazy, so no completely different

I just got my car back.

symptoms i had:

-rough idle
-misfire
-fuel cut feel at low load
-bogging at idle
-bogging at low load normal driving
-afr's pegged out lean and then rich (back and forth)

i thought it was spark plugs so i replaced them with no results. then, i thought it was fueling so i replaced the fuel pump and sock filter with no results. took it to the shop (all aspects motorsports). map sensor was losing signal randomly and changed it with no results. threw on someone else maf and it drove perfect. bought a new maf and installed, now it drives like new again.

get a hold of someones maf and try it out. might just be it.

I agree with you and Bhsj13 and am guessing that your MAF sensor is at fault. But, assuming you have an AccessPort (or similar) you could test it by disabling the MAF sensor input, forcing the ECU to, exclusively, use the MAP sensor for fuel calculations. If the problem persists, the issue is more serious (likely a boost leak). If the problem improves/disappears, get a new sensor and get back to goin' fast!
