Car won't rev past 1500 rpm! Help!!
So today as I was driving I was going up the ramp on the freeway(like I always do) and stepped on the gas to go on boost and catch up to highway speeds. Car suddenly stops accelerating and drops to about 1450 rpm and I try to shift down to pick up speeds but it doesn't go past 1500! Mechanic said it was on failsafe. What could it be!!? Car still turns on and still runs , it jerks when it hits 1500. I can go a little past 1500 to maybe 2500rpm but only if I let go of gas for about 3 seconds when it's on 1500rpm then I slowly press the gas up again to go past 1500. Won't let me pass 10mph car has Evo 8 stock turbo, Evo 9 bov, 255 Walbro fuel pump, o2 wideband, volt gauge, boost gauge and its tuned at FFTec in Hayward CA. Any positive feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

.
1) could be you were lugging the engine going up the ramp and if you have Tephra, the software would kick it into limp mode if it sensed you going beyond the programmed safety limits
2) OR you blew off a lower intercooler pipe
Both have happened to me. However, limp mode disappeared for me after I let it sit for a few minutes after shutting off the Evo and then restarting it. Hope that helps
