Evo was hit. Need advice.
It would just get repaired before they go on the car. Minor door dings are easy, they would prob use a paintless dent repair technique on anything minor. Or get another. The point of buying a used part is that it's in good condition and only needs paint. The shop and/or the insurance doesn't want to spend money to buy a used part, then spend more money to repair it in prep for paint...lol
Talk to the shop you want to do the work. Tell them your expectations, ask to see examples of their work. Maybe they have a car they just finished you can take a look at (feel for overspray), or at least see a book with photos of past projects. If you get a bad vibe, find another shop.
If the other person is 100% at fault, then you can demand new replacement parts to be used in the repair. Definitely use a shop you trust. And if the repairs aren't satisfactory, then simply don't accept it until it's done right. Insurance companies assume that most people don't know what they are entitled to and try to sucker you into the cheapest solution for them to settle the claim. Good luck man!

Yeah, go thru insurance! Had a similar incident on my last Evo, passenger side rear quarter and door. Was initially quoted $5k and thought eh, maybe I won't go thru insurance. But in the end, paying the deductible was totally worth it! Ended up costing insurance $11.5K to make everything right because suspension and rear braked got screwed up as well. Ask them to use new, and in many cases they will!
