Undertray

Hi,
so i have a question about the undertray. I didn't really notice or cared about it but today i was driving and notice a noise after i hit a small road bump and saw in my rear mirror something so i went back to grab it and i think it's the undertray. I checked the car the driver side has a plastic piece but the passenger side doesn't, so i'm assuming the undertray is gone. I was wondering if i should get it replaced? Do i need to get it replaced, will it affect anything besides probably a dirty engine bay? and if so how much to replace it? thanks.

I got rid of my OEM plastic undertray, and went with an aftermarket full coverage galvanized one. Yes, one of the pros to having an undertray is to keep the engine bay clean(er), but my car is dropped, so with out one, the first noise you will hear is your oil pan, etc. scraping/ damaged! With an aftermarket one, they are usually flatter, and more aerodynamic, so should it scrape, it's going to be the undertray that get scratched first, and make a noise so you can back off, and try a different entry to that speed bump, etc. I also know a lot of people don't mind not using one. I will always keep mine...Good luck!

I destroyed mine on a speed bump that was not marked in the road. I was really considering the beatrush but didn't like the cost. I ended up purchasing another stock one for half the price. I like the stocker because it's easy to move even for oil changes, engine work, etc. The plastic clips are easy to replace from ebay or any autoparts store if they start to get old or worn or there is also good old zip ties.

I just got myself a Carbing one with the side plates. though you have to cut and trim it to fit with the OEM cross member bar. i got lucky i found a Works Croxx plate 2 so i didnt have to cut out a portion of the tray. needless to say, i love the new one, it only has 5 bolts to drop the entire thing down, and they have a small window for you to change oil with out dropping the whole tray. it is by far the best on the market.
