well that depends on alot of factors. How much of the A/C system was removed? Do you have all the removed parts or will you be needing to purchase them?

Some people are big into weight reduction. That means they pull everything that doesn't hold the wheels on. If that is the case here you could need the entire A/C system and maybe more.

Also the state of any equipment left on the vehicle could have deteriorated. The A/C components where meant to be sealed from the elements. Having parts just left opened up might have allowed moisture and other junk to get into places that it shouldn't. So for parts that are still on the car, it will depend alot on how long they have been left opened up and what kind of environment the car was in.

^Yeah agreed however if one were to remove the compressor chances are they'd remove it all i.e compressor condenser lines etc. No point in leaving half of it installed chillin there

I just bought this last week:

http://www.pitstopauto.com/products/...ncer-co-11161t

$133 +$35 next day air shipping.
I installed it in about an hour and I never replaced a compressor before.

That is true, i do see some of the lines that is connected to the AC, i am having the dealer get some more history on why the compressor was removed, if it failed etc.

Its a really clean car with a good price, arranging an inspection before i go ahead and trade in my civic

A local reputable evo shop quoted me $500 to reinstall ac, and charge it. That was labor only. Needless to say, I'm doing it this winter, and my cousin is going to charge it in the spring.

if it is just a matter of a missing ac compressor, you can save money by purchasing the compressor youself and throw it on yourself or have someone that knows what there doing throw it on. the dealer is very expensive. on open systems we usually would put in the compressor and replace the receiver dryer, put the system in a vacuum and wait 10 minutes or more to make sure it holds. and then add 134a and pag oil. good luck.
