Evo 8 GRS to evo 8 Mr engine swap.
Evo 8 GRS to evo 8 Mr engine swap.
So I recently did an engine swap to an evo 8 Mr engine. The car starts up and idles fine but once I start driving it won't go pass 3k rpms and starts lossibg power and bogging. Ive check for boost leaks and there were none. I was previously tune and kept my old ecu in car. Need some help kinda stumped right now.
Anything different on the old engine that you were tuned for? Example, old engine had cams or bigger injectors, new engine does not?
Did you personally witness the new engine running normally in the donor vehicle (in case it behaved the same way in another car, could be jumped time, low compression etc)?

To add more info the car idles fine but at time will be rough. There is a loud whining sound coming from the fuel pump area. I drove it around a bit today and it was driving normally for about 15 min until it started hesitating which lead to going back to the same issue. I was not able to go past 3k rpms without the car bogging again. I am tuned to stage 2 with no real major mods.
New spark plugs? Whats the gap of the plugs? Did you reuse the coil? Coil on plug setup? Are you on sd? Maf? There is alot that can cause this but if it was driving fine before the swap and now doing this after the swap, i would think about what you reused and what you didnt reuse.
