So I've got a 2003 EVO 8 and for some reason I always have hot air blowing from all the vents (unless my A/C is on of course). I like to drive with my windows down but my car is always hot because of this. I don't know what the issue is. I have hot air coming from the top vents and I can feel it at my feet too. It's not blowing like if there is a fan on or something like that. I've messed with my controls but still can't figure it out. Any help?? (And yes I know driving with my A/C would solve the problem).

Mitsubishi didn't see fit to give us a water shutoff valve for the heater core. On cars that do have them they are often failure points. The metal ones rust out and the plastic ones break.

Start a road trip on a cool morning and almost immediately need the A/C. It is the way it is.

 

set it to recirculate and it will help stop the air from just blowing in, thats about the best you can do.

 

Simply engage the recirculation button to stop the flow

 

So I know I should've mentioned I've messed with that too. Mine is funky. Sometimes it lights up and sometimes it doesn't. I think it has to do with being in Max A/C or something like that.

I'll mess around a little more.
