I know nothing about nothing, expect I want a pretty car with a nice sound!!

So I'm the total chick who really doesn't know anything about cars, so I asked a lot of questions and learn it on the way! (Hey atleast I can change the brakes, rotors, oil, and a tire! All thanks for this forum!! lol) Well I want a muffler, I've read a bunch of things, and went on YouTube and listened to the videos the the ones I like. (I only checked for the ones on the lancer). Now I really don't want anything loud (I know a lot of people are like, that's the point of it) but not for me. I want a soft grumble that's fierce, but very low key. I think I read something about a silencer? I have no idea. Anyways, my first pick that I think sounds absoutly AMAZING and I am totally in love with the sound is the Greddy Evo2. I hear it and I melt, I think it has the be the most beautiful muffler I ever heard. After that is the Apex-i N1, but from what I heard, it's a bit too loud for my liking. I really didn't like the Magnaflow ones, I know a lot of people do, but I just don't like the sound. Anyways, I drive a 04 ES. Do i need a intake, or a specific size or anything? (yeah, like I said, I know nothing but the sonud I want)

Not many mufflers are going to be quieter than the evo2. Seems like you have your mind already made up. If you just want a muffler, you have infinite choices since the majority of them are universal. You really could have just searched. There are tons of threads about which exhaust to choice from. I know your a chick but the rules still apply.

you dont need an intake but it would be nice to have all the right components for ur car to breathe better (intake, header, exhaust). but i too, am thinking going with the greddy catback.

just get the muffler an bolt it on at an exhaust shop. Call RRM see if they still have any evo2 mufflers left. You will keep more back pressure preserving ur torque and have a nice sound.

Honestly, my wife is the DD of our Lancer and she LOVES the Greddy Evo II! Got the canister from RRM when they were offering just the muff for <$100. Got a shop to weld it on for $40 and it's awesome! You will love the sound, and won't regret it! Do it...!

Awesome, and yeah my mind kind of was already made up by the time I posted this, but you never know, someone could have told me something else I like and I would have looked it up on youtube. And I know there were other post and I checked some of them out, but I'm sorry it was late and I just posted it, it's usually easier when you have a question to just get direct answers for the questions. It made me laugh when Anztonyhere asked for the picture, lmao, but nope. no picture.

So I do need to buy a header and and an intake, is there a specific brand I should buy if I'm getting the Evo2?

lol, you dont NEED to buy anything else if all you want is the muffler done. it'd be nice to have the intake and header but from what ppl are saying...dont bother if you're going turbo eventually. they wont make u fast. the motor doesnt respond well to NA mods. im not a very big fan of the 4g94...

You're in the lion's den, I'm afraid But yea, you dont absolutely need Intake/Headers to run an exhaust. You can run it without any other mods if you wanted to. The only reason people do add these mods is to have a good standing in N/A. Intake/Header/Exhaust is a standard N/A combo that a lot of people go with to start, and it's sad to see so little power be pulled out of it. Just giving you a heads up, you're gonna lose some low-end torque when you run an exhaust, but gain some in the top end. That's just how our car responds to mods =P.

Good luck and I hope you're having fun with your car :3
