Fluid help please!!!

Hi guys!!

I was just after abit of clarification on what type or fluid i should be using for me transaxle/diff.

I will regularly service my new evo 8mr at home, so i was wondering what grade oil to use for my transfer case and transmission?

I live in australia, so even a few brands or fluids that people use here will be a really big help!!

Any info is much appreciated people, thanks heaps!!

on my way to the 400kW club

I had noticed people saying the OEM fluid is good, but it seemed odd that there are no aftermarket products that are better??

I am more than happy to use those products, however are there any other options that anyone knows of?? I know redline is good, but im not sure what grade to use and so forth

Redline Heavyweight Shockproof if you're non ACD.

I think any 05+ car had it right? I'm not entirely sure. Can you select gravel/tarmac/snow? If not you don't have an acd haha.

Yea mine is a 2004 8mr, but guessing the US model and jap model may be different. Imported mine from japan. May stick with the OEM fluid for transmission, and get a fully synthetic oil for the engine. Any aussies prefer a brand of oil they use for the engine, along with a preferred oil filter brand? Big step up from non turbo to turbo, want to make sure my car has great products put through her 😛

Oh if the 8's like the JDM 7 you have ayc and acd. Use the oem fluid.

Gearbox, TC and diff, always OEM, it comes in white cans. You don't want to risk these parts on cheap oils. Engine oil I use penrite racing 10 because it has high zinc for journal turbo
