Need help with factory seat.

I bought an evo a few months ago and the previous owner has a bucket racing seat installed in it. He gave me the factory seat with the car and I would like to put it back in but there is a problem. When the previous owner bought the seat he tried to save money and use the bracket and rail from the factory seat. Instead of un bolting it he grinded off bolts on the one side. I went to Mitsubishi to try and order a new bracket for the bottom of the seat and they don't sell it. They only sell it as a bottom cushion assembly and it's very expensive.

I Wanted to see if anyone had any ideas of how to get this seat back in safely and fully functionally. Below are pictures of where it has been grinded off. I can try and take better pictures. I have all parts.

Those bolts are installed with thread locker. They are pan head bolts with internal hex. Due to the way in which they were heat treated the internal hex strips with any removal attempt. Hence, they were sawed.

I guess you could remove the back (four bolts), and then remove the seat cushion. This would allow you to apply more heat without causing a large fire. The bolt stub would have to be drilled for an easyout. You risk breaking off the easyout trying this.

Other possibilities are having the stubs drilled and the holes retreaded or having the rail welded.

My other thought was to buy a used seat and swap all the mounting hardware. All the seats I see for sale or pretty best or cost top dollar. The seat I have looks like it's almost brand new. So I could possibly go that rout of buying a used seat possibly and swapping hardware so that I can mount mine. Unless it's more complicated than simply removing the hardware from the bottom of the seat

Its not complicated, you just can't remove the bolts. See the link I posted to the seat swap thread.

Thanks. I read the whole thing. It's nice to see how it comes apart. I will have to look at my seat when I get home and see about getting mine apart for now. So it is ready for when I get a seat to swap the parts. When I had it at my mechanic shot for inspection I was showing him and he made it sound like the stuff will come off the seat easily
