Hey guys I've recently brought an Evo 4 running a Evo 6 engine (supposedly) and it seems to be running the standard Evo 4 ecu and runs a bit off, will changing to the Evo 6 ecu make much of a difference? Dumb question I know, and also how can you tell what type of Evo engine your car is running? So I can be sure.

 

Tough question for sure. There maybe someone here that can intelligently answer this, but wanted to know if you belong to the MLR forum?

I can help you. If it's an Evo 6 motor with Evo 6 injectors (pink/red tops) then you need an Evo 5/6 Ecu. If you have yellow tops (Evo 4 injectors) you're fine with the 4 ecu.
