Difficulties getting local dealership to perform crossmember recall.
Dude go to another dealership. Sometimes, you come across people who actually want to help. Obviously, this dealership does not want to deal with you. Start over somewhere else. Whether they have it in the computer or not may not matter if the people working on your car are knowledgeable and somewhat decent. They may go ahead an honor the recall. Worth a shot.

.
Closest dealer is over 100 miles away, so it makes it pretty inconvenient, however I agree with you, I would love to have a competent concerned crew look at it.
At this point I pretty much want to force them to do the recall out of spite and /or principal and as soon as I get the recall awarded, THEN take it to another dealer.

Do you know if they test drove your car to verify what you are reporting? That's super shady that they say nothing is wrong with the car without even test driving it. unfortunately is seems you may need to resort to drastic measures. Just goes to show how morally inept that dealership is.
No, not once that I'm aware of was the car taken out for a highway speed test drive. I think they may have driven it to the gas station, but only to fill it up to appease my wife since she had to wait for over an hour.
Yeah, it is super shady and I don't know what is going on with it. MMNA will pay the techs the full price that they would get from a customer to perform the same job, so its really hard to comprehend whats going on.
I think this all started because I scheduled the car to have both recalls (Takata airbag) done while my wife was out of town for work and it wouldn't have been an inconvenience to us, I was brushed off from the very get go by the SM when I told him that the problem had already happened as described in the recall on the car. He estimated 6 hours to do perform the service, and I questioned the time frame since a cross-member replacement would take considerably longer, and he said they generally don't have to do the recall replacement. I again emphasized the car was from Chicago and I had the problem occur already and that I was having stability issues with the car. There was no change in his attitude at all, still not overly concerned that the cross-member would need replacing.
Sure enough 6 hours later the car was "done", consisting of them spraying the anti-corrosive everywhere on my frame EXCEPT where the rust and hole are present in the joint, along with the airbag recall.
I balked about it when I talked to them upon pickup and was told the car was in good condition and ready to go and the recall procedure for both had been completed.
Needless to say when I picked up the car it was still unstable at any sort of serious speed and has oversteer issues on any sort of turn.
I feel like the SM has a personal issue with me and has been discounting the issues to the other folks at Mitsubishi, including his DM. Then the DM already biased from what the SM has been telling him has an unfavorable impression of me from the get go, and me being agitated with their incompetence showed through during our conversation. So again, now everybody thinks Im a dick because i want my car fixed, but they are somehow butt-hurt so bad they wont perform the recall. IDK, im rambling now...

This sounds like nothing but a huge headache for you. Im sorry I don't wana be a dxxk but just go buy a new subframe, arms, bolts, whatever it needs and get it installed by a good aftermarket shop and call it a day move on with you and your families lives.
You got 187,000 miles on the car...!

Do you know what the cost of the subframe + Labor is? LOLOLOLOLOL
You're as insane as the people at the dealership.
Mitsubishi OWES me this part. I'm not gonna cut my losses on this one.

Are there any other dealerships halfway close that you could try? I took my car in and the dealership expected there to be no issues since it has under 40K miles on it but once they put it up on the lift saw there was a hole rusted through the part. So, they replaced it no questions asked.
Do you have pictures, or do you know where the hole was located in the cross-member?
It felt like they expected the hole would be somewhere other than the LCA area, which I find strange since the recall specifically states that to be the safety issue.

Sorry, I do not have pictures. It was towards the driver side but I didn't look at it that closely since they were going to replace it.
