recall on a recall?
i just got in the mail today a letter from mitsubishi. i went in when for the ecu adjustment for the warm up catalytic converter (for 2002 lancers only, i think) a while back and ever since then my idle has been VERY unusually high in any conditions (about 2100 rpms......yeah) but anyways the letter says:
"However, due to an error in the procedure used to reprogram your vehicle, the idle may become unstable. " And they want me to come it to have it fixed, blah blah blah, to "reinitalize the throttle position sensor"
Has anyone else experienced similar issues that I have and/or got this letter as well and have got it done and if you did, was it fixed? Just wanted to see if this was a common occurance with the high idle, or if i was just a specific case.

I have the same issue regarding the actual RPMS. When my car is warm and good to go everything is fine. But if i turn off the car and start it up again the RPMS just jump into the 2100's and slowly come down. I have to wait for it to settle before i change gears though, because i'm auto and if i just shift it to D the car will hit hard due to the rev's.

After seeing so much bullshat like this about mitsu's recalls, i dont think i will ever take mine in for one. i just dont understand how they can send a recall for something that is broken and cause another problem. dont their engineers test the fixes to make sure that doesnt happen before they send out service bulletins? obviously not. .
