Front bumper air duct solution

Hey guys I have a question about the Rexspeed air ducts. So as you guys can see on the passenger side of the front bumper the previous owner cut into it. (Don't ask me why) but my question is that can the air ducts cover it? It's not to bad of a cut and I was thinking about this solution instead of having to get another oem bumper and dealing with painting it etc.. Any help at all would be appreciated! Happy new year!
P.s As you guys can see I tried covering it with my license plate lol.

They should, I'd think. And it would still have the other three sides to stick to. Finally, an actual use for those thing LOL

looks like he trimmed it to fit the intercooler pipe. It's common with evo 8 front bumpers. The rexpeed air duct could possibly get in the way same as the bumper did.

one solution could be getting another FMIC with lower end tanks such as the ETS one

Just my two cents, but I think it looks great! Plus, it looks like with that intercooler, it's needed. Makes the bumper look unique/serious...I'd leave it alone.

You could go with the carbon air ducts or the angry aero carbon fiber bumper shutters or rexpeed.. or leave it as is.. kind of like Howard says it may have been needed to fit your intercooler

i actually have the 3.5" ets core and full short route piping. I was waiting for winter to pass before I installed it. You think with that piping it should clear the duct?

must funny because when I first picked it up I never really noticed. The cut looks pretty aggressive but it's something that annoys me cause it's not even on the other side :/

@illevo_ I'm going to look more into them. Hopefully with the ets piping upgrade I'll be able to clear the ducts and get them fitted properly

I came across my set of Rexspeed air ducts last night as I was cleaning up the garage. Mine are unpainted, however. Honestly, mine look more like fiberglass and not CF, though. I can't recall any of the details about them, but I also am not positive that they are large enough to cover that cut. If you can provide any extra details, I can check the measurements for the one I have.

@Matz sorry for the late reply man. Hope these pictures do some justice. Hopefully the ducts can cover it so I don't have to buy a new bumper:/
