he has a point!

When i got my evo i knew of the possiblity of the better model being released. But honestly am i the only one that gets a weird attachment to cars? Its like the first time you fall in love.... that love sticks with you for years. Honestly i dont care if i ever get rid of my evo. I plan to keep it for years and years to come. One thing i will consider doing is buying an additional car. Possibly a newer better evo But i will always remember and hopefully own my first evo. The Car is what legends are made of. This is gonna be the muscle car "they had way back when" in about 20 years........ And ill be happy to say when im older and grayer that i was apart of it. So the question was will you trade your evo for a MR? Hell no! In many years nothing has brought me as much joy as my evo Like i said i get a weird attachment to my cars. Because of this car i have met so many interesting people. I would have never met these people if i didnt have my evo.. Basically my evo is another chapter of my life it wont be closed though. This is why the recent wreck i was involved in in my evo pisses me off! Some moron that ****ed up my baby! because he wasnt watching coming up to a stop light...... Btw the comments about 17-18-19 years olds is BS!!! I see more accidents involving old farts that cant half see and surely shouldnt be driving. But see those dont make papers because its just accepted. Im 20 now but have had my evo since i was 19 and before that drove a 320whp mustang.... So ehh Boooooya Boyeeeeeeee

Yeah, its the same car but arent ALL the EVO's essentially the same car???(EVO 1 through 8??)

They just got better with age!

Maybe we should wait till 2006 when they introduce that one car with all that horsepower and what not..Then it's worth it, right?

(how much more would it cost you to trade in the EVO then??! )

Your not serious about the 1-8 Evos being the same are you?

You get what you pay for. A $20g Evo is going to be "used" to put it mildly.

Seriously, guys. MR is nice, but get real. You've already got hellishly fast cars. Save your money for something that counts.

the MR is nice and all but my evo will perform in handling and power far better than the MR...its gonna be just like a 330whp WRX with suspension upgrades and your gonna trade it for the STI.... its not worth it unless.. well we all have our reasons

I like to think most people wouldn't rather trade in their car every year or so for a car that's 10% better performance-wise at what amounts to a 35% loss. If you're planning on losing nearly $10 G/2 years, you're better off leasing the damn thing (if it's an option), especially if you don't intend to modify it for fear of voiding your warranty.
1. Leasing the EVO is cost prohibitive due to a poor long term residual.

2. Unless you purchase cars as percieved "investments", what do you think happens when you drive off the showroom floor? Appreciation??!!

It's more like a 20%-25% loss anyways on the 2003 EVO and that is not bad by industry standards..Re-read my point about cars being "depreciating assets" . Your logic is a little tainted in regards to the purchase/trade of a car due to your thinking that a car is an investment.

Yeah, I am. Whats different?

Yeah, mod the crap out your stock Evo so you can void the warranty and completely ruin any resale value. Also, I have yet to see a heavily modified car that wasn't in and out of the shop or that didn't suffer some type of negative consequence. I'd rather have an MR with no need to modify, and a full warranty. As far as dealers saying it will never be imported, how would they know? When the WRX came out Subaru swore up and down that they'd never bring over the STI.

Features on a MR that are not on the USDM EVO 8: 6spd, AYD, Super-AYC, Bilstein shocks, front LSD, and few more details. That would cost a lot of money to put those things in our EVO's. There's a wider gap than it would appear.

Even though no official plans were even announced it coming to the US, I highly doubt it would be this year. Would I trade in my EVO? Maybe in '06 or '07, but not anytime soon.

I wonder if I'll still be holding out becuase they still can't figure out that overly complex cruise control system and make it work on an Evo. I just get exactly what I want, or I don't waste my money.. The Evo's lack of cruise control held me back.. and the lack of radio and sunroof on the STi held be back there too. One of them should shortly remedy these shortcomings and hopefully throw in some other extra nice things.. 6spd MR with cruise, under body aero panels, SMT, would have my check.. oh well.. Watching my money grow until exactly what I want is available is fine by me..
