550 HP built evo for cheap ?

550 HP built evo for cheap ?











Looking to buy this evo ! Its owned by a very reputable tuning shop and it's the owners or bosses personal car that he built. Everyone who knows him says he's the evo god haha , thier shop builds evo for a living. The folllowing is all the info I could get from the shop. Also he's selling it for 20k$. What's your honest opinion? Does it seem well built and did he use quality parts based on what he said ?

Brand new tires. 500whp. Everything is new. Even new turbo. Boss said 20k. Sorry man I know it's more but I thought he said 18. I mean the entire drive train is brand new and it's an evo 9. Stock they go for 18 lol. Spirited driving with the potential of drag/auto cross. Haha boss wanted suspension and brakes (hence the will wood front kit) yet power but good mid Range too.Plus dual map. E85 and pump gas to choose power yet not limit range. Built head with GSC cams and Springs too. AMS intake so big end flow for the occasional "roll race " haha. ACL bearings and ARP bottom with peened rods and moly rings. ARP headstuds with cosmetics. Gates racing timing kit.Built trans and built transfer case. Definitely can handle it. Much stronger! Obviously you have to launch it proper to haha. Transfer case and transmission and motor and clutch and turbo were all brand new litterly like 3 months ago! Umm 108k on the body but I'll check. Brand new tires and new will wood front brake kit. Head fresh built when the motor was.

This Evo looks to be an MR model. A few questions for you:
  • What is the name of shop who owns the car?
  • Is the car clean title or salvaged title? I tend to stay away from salvaged titled cars since you never fully know what happened to the car and how it was repaired.
  • Any rust?
  • Does the owner have receipts of every part purchased?
  • Full mod list?
  • Who built the head?
  • Who built the trans?
  • Who built the transfer case?
  • What turbo is on the car?
  • Who tuned it?
Overall the car looks to be in good condition and well sorted. Dig deeper to see if you can find any more info on the car before pulling the trigger.

it's a clean title and built by slow motion tuning. It's the bosses car and the tuner shop did all the work. I'll get a full mod list. But all work was done at his own shop

Looks legit for the most part. Aside from the turbo which I've never heard of (could possibly be a Chinese-made turbo which I'd advise against using), as long as the owner can provide receipts of everything then I'd say go for it. Just beware of the possible issues of owning a heavily modified Evo such as this.

Also what pistons and rods are in the motor?

Why does the listing not show any of the actual motor internals that matter other than rings and bearings? What rods and pistons?
