Need help ASAP please

Hello everyone,

Does anybody know how to replace the seal circled in red in this picture? Is there a tool that will make my job easier? I need to replace it and put my car together. Thanks everyone in advance.

Generally a seal removal tool to get it out and I usually find a socket the size of the seal so socket sits on the beefier part of the seal if you will, then gently tap it in place tapping the bottom of the socket until its seated and then check that it's uniformly in there.

Never had a seal on any car leak again afterwards!! I have had a bad axle once on a different platform make me change 3 seals before I found the issue was the axle spline lol.

Good Luck

I replaced that seal a few years ago, If i recall correctly, I used a small drill bit to drill 2 holes into the seal, then screwed in a couple sheet metal screws and pulled it out. Then tapped in the new seal with a large socket and a hammer.

So you remember what size socket you used? I don't have sockets that big so I need to buy one want to make sure I don't get the wrong size. Thanks

Nah sorry i don't, just remember it was a big one for like an axle nut. Just bring the new seal with you when you go shopping.

What I've done on several occasions is to pocket the seal, visit a hardware store plumbing department and select a short threaded nipple the size of the seal - if there is one. Thread a cap on one end and grind the other end flat.

Yep a PVC end cap the right size works just as well as a true seal installer.
Use a dead blow or rubber hammer to hit it.
