ok so met up with one of the local evo guys who daddles in a bit of tuning and he's sent me this photo of what was turned off on my rom compared to what is on in the stock rom (highlighted ones are the ones turned off) Would any of these cause an issue like we're seeing? interestingly the P0300 code was already disabled although I am still getting it

ok so gave the new tune a proper test today, took probably about 2 hours before 5th gear finally went, engine light came on but after checking the ECU to see what error codes it came up with there were none on it, I dont have Tephra on my ECU so its not that. does anyone have any ideas? I can supply a copy of my ROM if anyone wants to take a look

ok so looked at one of the logs (attached) and god was it knocking heaps and the injectors were nearly maxing out, any idea what would cause this? is it just tune or may the injectors be on the way out?

Also on the way to work 5th went again still waiting on an opertunity to check the CEL codes but will keep this thread up to date.

ok So to add to this thread mainly just so if anyone else ever has an issue similar they can see what I did and all that good stuff.

Was at the mechanincs last night and when turning it over he thinks that there might be low compression in one piston, we ran out of time to test it so will probably end up getting tested next time I see him. anyone know what might cause that and how to fix it? I have heard that it means a full engine rebuild but obviously trying to avoid that if I can.

If a low cylinder is found do a leakdown test to see where the air is going.

so Nearly a year on this is still a re-occurring issue, I think im now going to use this post more as a way of keeping track of what I have tested so if anyone else ever has this issue I might be able to be some help.

I have changed over my Coils and it has not removed the issue, next thing im going to try is a COP kit and a new power supply to see if its an earthing strap or something similar.

Ok so on Saturday I met up with another local Evo guy and we put a COP kit that we knew worked on the car, after two days ive had another P0300 "Random/multiple cylinder misfire" which eliminates coils. Next we plan on trying a dedicated power source for the ignition/fuel system to see if wiring is the cause

we tried the dedicated power supply for the ignition and that also didnt seem to fix it so im officially ruling out that its electrical. Next i think im going to have to see another tuner to have the fuel maps played around with again to see if that is causing it.

Yesterday I had the Cam sensor in the car die out of nowhere. I'm not sure if these two would be related and I didn't think sensors would just die within 20mins of turning the car off this morning when I turned it on in 5th it definitely seemed to be sitting at cruise a bit better in 5th so we'll wait and see if it decides to throw a P0300 again
