Looks like you have some of the gel coat left over which is why you're seeing the different colors underneath the clearcoat. I've seen that taking it down to the carbon material nets the best results aesthetically. This project takes a LOT of time and effort... I've been working on mine for a while, and I'm about ready to throw it off a bridge haha

 

I painted mine body color - done in 30 minutes.

I actually sanded all the clear coat off my buddies Evo wing and it looks good all dry carbon.
