Friend of mine has an evo 8 and says his afr's at idle and on throttle are messed up. He thinks it's because he used his 2-step for the first time to see if his exhaust would shoot flames. He engaged the 2-step twice, each time for about 10 sec.
I suspect it could be from changes to his exhaust instead. He had a 3" turbo back to the muffler and then it went to 2.5". No cats. Since he had the restrictive muffler he bought the setup buschur uses or something similar. 3" pipe where the muffler used to be and added a 3" resonator so it wouldn't be too loud.
Any thoughts?

What your saying is, after he hit his 2 step (to shoot flames) His afr isnt normal anymore? During normal driving and idle>? Or right after he activated the 2 step

 

What are his AFRs?
