My car was stolen last night!!!
I think this is the 2nd Evo I heard that got stolen this week in Chicago. I also heard years ago that a guy found his Evo in the most random parking lot. Like the thieves placed it there just in case it had tracking. Hopefully you can find it like that. Otherwise, sorry for your loss.

They broke the rear small window to open the door. Used black duck-tape to mask it off from looking suspiciously broken. Next they unplugged my ECU and plugged their “immobilizer bypassed” ecu . Finally they break the key ignition lock to use a screw driver or something similar to turn and start the car.
I believe they park the Evo’s at random spots overnight then later come back and drive it off. I can only assume its done to possibly rule out the chance of having Lojack or any other tracking device. Unless my evo gave them problems due to larger injectors i had that their tune didnt allow it to run right.
The people living in the neighborhood called the cops because it seemed suspicious to them. Perhaps the thieves were tinkering around the car?
I had Cobra Rada detector. I saw it posted on Craigslist for sale next night. From the pics I new it was mine because I had a velcro I cut in a unique shape and stuck on the bottom. I posted this in the forums here and right away they took the Craigslist post down. I didnt write down their info, it just happened so quickly. I guess that confirmed no assumptions necessary, the thieves are here in the forums.
Yea, they are absolutely either members of or troll this forum religiously. BlueEVOIX, did you get the car back? I'm assuming by your post and "Drives" that you no longer have it but did you get it back and fixed before selling it on or was it considered a total loss though insurance??
I don't, but if I was the owner I would know, so would you or at the very least you'd consider that an option dependent on where you parked it, I sure hope.
I'd bet a pretty penny though if the car went missing near Chicago it's the same POS's that have boosted dozens before it.

Thanks for the support guys.
I saw the guy drive off with it. Some Hispanic guy it looked like. So I know it wasn't towed.
This is my second time it got stolen. Last time it was abandoned in a parking lot.
Hopefully I can get it back again. Need to up my security for sure....
Extra details on the car just in case they changed the license plate or whatever.
Its a MR
COBB exhaust
unknown aftermarket downpipe
Dropped on swift springs
purple shift knob
stock grey BBS rims with Extreme Contact DWS
A few of my heels are in the back seat if they didn't toss them
driver side rear quarter panel near the rear door is rusted a little
no evolution emblem on the rear boot
license plate is held by zip ties
Er.. this will be backfiring if those thieves were on this forum.....

Lurking the forums... thats some messed up crap right there if its true. Like someone mentioned a red ix was stolen in Orlando a few weeks ago. I have a red IX and thought I wouldve been pulled over or someone wouldve said something to me by now. I never park in shady areas where a thief can take their time. Good luck OP.
Yup. All we can do to make sure that people get what they deserve is to install hardwired and hidden tracking systems into our cars that have a backup battery. A tilt sensor, long range alarm with remote feedback would also help. Stay away from OBDII powered tracking devices. They are very convenient, but also convenient for the thief to spot and throw out the window. It's all worth it the day they take the wrong car. Police showing up and busting up their sick plans.
