Unhappy Drive Safe Guys

Just passing this along.
One of my best friends just wrecked his 9 MR recently.

The day AFTER getting it back from the paint shop... he was doing some spirited driving, came up on a hard turn and lost it.

Literally a day after he got it back from the paint shop.

It's pretty heartbreaking because he's been a huge enthusiast and owned the car for almost 4 years.

But at the end of the day he came out with no injurys.

Drive safe guys.

Sorry to see yet another wrecked Evo but hopefully he learns from this...

If you want to race and push the car, find a track.

Also, doesn't look like the airbags went off? Weird based on how much front-end damage there is if they didn't deploy

Its good he is ok, unfortunate for the car. I found the evo is a bit like when I was riding bikes, it tempts you to go a little harder to see what you got. Tracking helps to know how far to the edge you can go too.

The paint job was done well. Good color match and has a quality finish. Sad to see that happen to the Evo after that much work was done.

Good thing your friend is able to walk away. The Evo can be repaired but most likely will be totaled. It depends on insurance.

Happens a lot in our world. So sad. I remind myself from time to time that I'm driving a precious car and if I want to do anything stupid, do it in a go-kart.

I truly hope he improves from this and this becomes his last crash.

Frame was bent so I'm sure it'll be totalled.

Yeah, it's a shame. Just going to help him fight and get what it's worth so he can move on to another one.
This really opened his eyes that **** can go downhill pretty quickly, and that it's not always worth it.

At the end of the day he came out perfectly fine.

Hopefully someone in here sees this and takes an extra second to be careful 👍.

Thanks for reading.

Well, insurance ended up totaling the car out and gave him 14k (...way too low imo)

But he's came to terms with it. If any of you are in Cali keep a look out for it. It should be in the San Bernardino area.

He decided not to buy it back and is just letting it go.

It's an 06 MR.
Full bolt-ons.
272s
Full exhaust
MR interior (good shape)
Stock suspension
Stock internals/valve train
New 5 speed
Freshly powdercoated Brembos (cusco blue)
Aem gauges (afr, oil, boost)
Greddy profec
Stock turbo.

That's all the notable stuff off the top of my head if someone tries to buy it up.

probably should have not accepted that offer and fought with insurance over the appraised value of the car...

I would still buy the car back.. he can part out the car or use the parts on another Evo he purchases in the future. $14k is BS.

Definitely have him buy the car back and part it out, or sell it as is. Lots of good parts on there. I am in the market for a set of the BBS wheels
