No Oil Pressure Below 3k RPM

Recently I noticed a small oil leak at the track. Noticed that the underside was all wet with fresh oil around the filter area. I think it was a loose oil cooler line.

At the same time I noticed that oil pressure was reading 0 below 3000 rpm, after which it would jump up to around 75. It's a newer gauge and sending unit, both of which were working just fine before the leak.

Anybody have any ideas?

Either the gauge is broken or you wiped the bearings.

There's really only one thing you can do, and that's verify that you do in fact have an oil pressure issue. Buy an oil pressure test kit. I've had this happen three times in the past four years and it's always been a faulty oil pressure sending unit, though your circumstances are a bit different.

Well if its rattling like a box of rocks--bearings and motor are done...if not, see above for sending unit issue.

If you mounted the oil pressure sensor directly to the oil filter housing, you likely wiped out the sensor. You need to get a remote mount line like the one STM sells.

Also that remote line can rub on the axle, it's better than mounting it directly but it still takes a bit of fiddling to put it somewhere that makes sense. I gotta get back in there and rotate it.

There's these magical things, they're called zip ties. Use them...

AC line bracket, ziptie, Power Steering Hose, ziptie to ziptie to ziptie to Oil Pressure Sensor

this **** is wack

also power steering hose was rubbing on timing belt because of the Radium catch can, so I had to put the upper timing cover back on even though it no longer fits because of the 4G64 block, in case you're wondering
