I tried replacing my OEM floor mats for my 2003 EVO. I ordered from two separate dealers and both are jet black in color where my original carpet and floor mats are a dark charcoal grey. Anyone else have this issue? Any help would be appreciated. I have never seen an EVO VIII or IX with black carpets or floor mats. Part number I ordered by the way is ALN03XFB07.

 

Does the mat say "Evoution VIII"?

 

I remember black Evo floor mats being offered by a few vendors, and on ebay, about 4-5 years ago. Their quality was said to be close to factory, though it would be odd for Mitsubishi to sell a similar product.

Personally, I bought an extra set of floor mats with the car in '06 just to make sure an identical set could be had in the future. Haven't used them yet.

 

Yes it does, exactly as factory. These are oem.

Yes, that is a stock photo many use but the one available now is not that color but jet black and there is only one part number for it for the Evolution viii mat.

 

well sounds like Mitsu likely changed the color on the floor mats. While this may sound odd it is possible. If you choose to forgo OEM ones I can vouch for these which last and are much stronger than OEM ones. http://www.tf-works.com/evolution-lo...shi-evo-7-8-9/

can you post a whole pic of one floor matt? I want to see the contrast of the darker fabric on the lettering.

My guess is Mitsubishi chose to forgo the OEM mats (times are tough at Mitsubishi) and did as you suggest.

I ordered my floor mats from stm back in 2013. Black. I had no complaints then. Don't have any now.

 

I kinda like the black fabric. Its not like the OEM ones were very durable anyways. Unless you are looking to be a purist and must have the original color the way they were made in the gray fabric.

 

I want grey. These are oem directly from the Mitsubishi dealer and are black. Same part number but not the original grey color.
