Issues with evo 8. Driving me insane. Please help :(
OK something strange
as soon as the car warms up the engine has a harsh sound to it. If I blip the throttle the engine vibrates badly. Also a heap of fuel is spraying all over the ground from the exhaust when I rev it😢
think it might be time to sell the car.

I have made some logs today, although I have no idea what Im looking at.
Short term fuel trim is at - 0.0 to 0.01
Long term is 2.6
Does this mean anything to you guys?
Leaky flange/diverter valve has to go.
My synapse diverter valve started leaking and my boost would do similar things. I replaced it with a Tial valve (make sure it will fit properly). My car ran beautiful after that.
Down the road a month or 2 rain had gotten into my boost controller which happened to be a Perrin electronic solonoid.. the previous owner had the open ports facing upward and water got into it. My car wasn't making proper boost and then eventually completely failed which made the car run at base # of boost. I replaced it with the new Perrin electronic boost controller / solonoid and the car ran better then it had ever been.
A boost leak test would do you right.. listen for air.. or spray a mixture of water/soap around areas you think might be leaking and you might find other leaks. Another common spot that goes over time are the throttle body seals.. listen for air near the TB when boost leak testing too.

You guys are awesome. OK I noticed a pattern.
once I get to low on fuel my car gets some of its power back. As soon I refill It starts feeling dowy and crap. Like I'm driving with the handbrake up.
also I have a new turbosmsrt bov. Is it recommend I get a trial or synapse bov?
I'm doing a proper boost leak test tomorrow and replacing clamps with t bolts. Also taking a video.

Not sure if anybody told you this.. but
1) you may want to see if you can find a stock BOV.. you should be able to use that and get you back to a level you can rule our the old one.
2) with your aftermarket BOV some of them come with different springs.. you may want to check to see if you have the weaker spring installed.
3) manual boost controller... have you triple checked to make sure it is not lose or didn't back out on you.. plus there are ways to check if the spring inside of them has gone to **** ( if you have one that uses that type of construction).
Sorry if this doesn't help but i feel that you need to try and put it back to stock if you are keeping the stock tune vs. putting on all these parts and not knowing what happened. (All those parts and no tune.. doesn't make for a happy evo... too many changes without making sure the car can work correctly...)
Last... (i didnt ready the 2 page thread.. but have you upgraded your injectors and fuel pump? (That needs to be also put out there because you really need a tune if that has been touched on the car. )
