AC and heating not working

Hey everyone,

so, my A/C system isn't working.. Well, it sorta is. The A/C only works on cold days and the heat only works on hot days. If you turn the A/C on during warm weather, it will blow hot air and of you turn the heat on in cold days, it will blow cold air.. Not really A/C, seems like it's just sucking in the outside air. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

While turning the temperature control knob look above the accelerator pedal, up towards the top of the heater box, and observe if the two levers there are moving smoothly.

Sorry, I have been busy and havent been able to reply.. But after sitting in my car this morning at 30*f, I was freezing my a** off. Here's what happens when I turn the knob, and I am turning it fully from max ac, to full heat

That mechanism that's not moving controls the blend door. The blend door slides back and forth like a patio door uncovering either the heater core or the A/C evaporator core. In the middle it is a combination of both, hence the name.

I'd suggest pulling the cable off the lever and seeing if you can work it by hand. Sometimes debris gets down in the door and jams it. If the door works okay then it is the cable or the control.

First you need to see if your A/C compressor is even engaging when you are turning the A/C on. Second thing I'd recommend is have a look at this thread that has a similar issue to you.

For a cable to work, both ends of the cable sheath has to be anchored. The control end of the cable sheath in your car is out of its slot and moving freely.

Both ends of the cable are latched around the plastic pieces... Where is the control end?

The control end is the end closest to the knob. The black plastic piece on the control end of the sheath was (should be) snapped into the white bracket close and below it. I don't know why it came loose but it could be because the door in the heater box is hard to move. The updated levers and sticking blend doors are what prompted the TSB.
