Quote: Damn you guys need to find new insurance company's. I'm 31 and pay $92 dollars a month full coverage on my 05. Go thru an insurance agency and have them shop Ins Co. for the best price. I was paying $150 and told the lady I can't afford it and she shopped around, wham cheap ins. I have a prior DUI too so don't say it can't be done. You could drive a Mercedes or Range Rover for the price your paying insurance omg. Sorry to get off topic, just trying to help...
I know that your intentions are good, but I don’t think you’re telling anyone anything that they didn’t already know. I think people are aware of the fact that they aren’t restricted to only calling one company or that they can utilize an insurance agency/broker.

Remember that age, location and coverages all play a huge, huge role in rates, so your rates may not be indicative of what someone would get in Utah. Or if they chose the highest liability limits and lowest deductibles possible. Or if they were 21.

Unless your prior DUI is still within the chargeable period (which is three years prior in most states except for California where they go back ten years just for DUIs) or if you still need a state filing (i.e. SR-22 or FR-44), then it’s not going to have an effect.

Quote: I would add that the Evo isn't inherently unreliable. Its a very solid car with very few common weaknesses. The biggest I can think of is probably the balance shaft belt. The stock clutch was known to be weak (not that any CT9A's are still running a stock clutch)which was an intentional move by mitsu to help prevent people blowing up the drivetrain from launching. Mostly these cars suffer from what their owners do to them.
Agree with you, I believe the previous owner really did a number on the car. As far as 4g63 crazy, once you get everything fixed, shoot for a goal and stick with it. Don't shoot for the highest HP evo on the planet, do what your funds can do. There is a reason for SHOP evos getting parted out. I mean its cool to say I have the fastest evo but your never gonna say by the way its my 3rd motor, 3rd shep trans, 5th Turbo set-up....etc. Now if you got money to throw around like Jay Leno then I will shut up. My 03 GSR has been paid for a long long time now, I love having no payments. I still have the stock block, and have no plans to build anytime soon. Unless she lets go so maybe I am lucky sitting on 87k original miles, but the best mod you can do is get you a beater and take car of that evo.
