Well, if the American public takes the "I don't care if it is a true evo or not" attitude, they'll be laughing all the way to the bank when they do it.

I dont thnk that the kind of people who know bout the EVO are the kind to not look into what they are getting... we aren't a whole bunch of overly rich South orange county CA CEO's looking for a flashy new convertible form Mercedes benz just to impress our rich neighbors.
We want it for its performance not the name.

PS mitsubishi isnt exactly high on the status queo for those "buying by brand"

I'm sorry, but this $$$ over quality thing is kinda getting to me.

Even IF Mitsu. was going to take off the AYC, ACD, Brembos.....that'd be a TOTALLY different way to produce the car....there's NO point to that.

I've said it MANY times before, but apparently I need to say it again, I don't believe Mitsubishi's in it for the $$$ with this car, it IS their flagship car, there is ZERO point to them TOTALLY reconfiguring the car between here, Japan, Canada, and Europe. Fiscally, that would be the DUMBEST thing they could do....having 4 different versions of the same car, with the same name is just utterly RIDICULOUS.

I mean I can see where people are coming from, thinking that wants to make a bit of $$$, but this car has NEVER been all about sacrificing performance for how $$$ much could be made. There's been a lot of mistakes being made by Mitsu. over here, but them taking off all of that stuff....that is just BEYOND stupidity, that's begging for American people, and America's performance network to HATE you. As far as I know, Mitsubishi's been in the business of making cars that make the company look decent, not cars that make their company look like ***.

Stupidness runs rampant in the car world, but Mitsubishi KNOWS that they need a car that will A) compete with the REX B) compete with the REX STI C) compete with everything else that may be thrown their way and MOST OF ALL D) boost the company's image....not only performance wise, but quality of cars wise.

i completely agree with you...if Mitsubishi is gonna play this smart, especially for marketing purposes for the future of their company they would'nt sacrifice performance for $$$ so on that note, "Please Mitsubishi!!!!" if you guys are reading this at all, Bring the car over as is!!!!!!"

Rumoers vs speculation vs reality

Everyone, get a grip.
This is turning out to be just another of a dozen threads full of speculation.
None of us really know what we will be getting. All we have is some spy shots and some wonderful undercover shots. THAT IS IT.
The reality is this: It is in 's absolute best interest not to release details until just before release. The car has to maintain its competetive edge against the STi which will be released after the EVO.
So, until then. Realize this is only a rumors forum and until we get the official specs, anything is just that, a rumor.

Ther, sorry if I offended anyone. I just had to get this off my chest.
