Basically, according to what they're saying the Evo VIII will be lighter, 275+hp, 6-speed. It will be in the US and Japan Jan. '03 and Canada will only get the "detuned Evo...230 something hp that is priced about the same as the wrx (24k or so). This makes sense. That would explain the dicussions about two Evos being offered. There will be the full blown Evo coming to the US and Japan and then the detuned one in April.

If that's the case... sucks to be Canada. Still think we'll end up with the JDM and the... CDM?

 

One other thing being thrown around is that there will be some sort of electronic front differential, i.e. AYC for the front diff.

Why is it that when any news comes down the pipe about this car, it seems to be bad news?

No AYC, No ACD, no Brembos, no God knows what, and now... just look at the damn thing. Bad enough news for me, the enthusiast.

 

Look at it? That picture looks just like a VII with the GTA taillights. And as for the front..I think it will look fine.
Who says it won't have Brembos, etc.
They said it would be lighter than the VII, have 276hp, and a 6-speed tranny...that's pretty good news if anything.

 

Who said all of this? Mitsu? Release? Unveiling?
