Evo 8/9 - dashboard top removal

Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to remove the top panel of the dashboard, without needing to pull the entire console off? I am looking at replacing the air conditioning trunking underneath this and need to size up the amount of work required.

Can I remove the screws that are hidden behind the centre trim piece and thus pull it off from the positioning studs that are on the firewall?

(borrowing filthyevo's picture from his dashboard flocking process)

No, the whole dash has to come out to separate the top panel. It only takes like ten minutes though.

Yeah unfortunately you have to remove the entire dash, but that's not a problem like superbovine mentioned above.
