I can't believe they charge $2200 for a part that is known to fail. Why doesn't anyone make an aftermarket pump. I tried to rebuild mine but I failed. the pump is stiff and the motor wont turn unless i loosen the bolts.

That is expensive! Its 12-13 years old and everything has a service life. May need to source a good used one. FWIW Its out in the elements and salt/rain can kill them. Looks like you live in the northeast. Does the car get driven in the snow/rain alot?
The acd makes big difference for turning and going around corners. If you are more into straight line you could delete it and the acd tcase.
If you get another acd pump you may want to move it into the trunk.

Yea I have been seeing a bunch of used ACD pumps on the market. The facebook Evo groups would be a good place to check. I wonder if the Ralliart ACD pumps would be equivalent. It probably costs the same anyway.
I agree the best solution to keep them from failing is to take them out of the elements. Put it into the trunk.

Yes I get that, but this is a part I did not realize would fail or cost so much. I just rebuilt the transfer case and when I picked it up that is when the ACD pump failed. I also just put a new trans, and clutch in. I am fine with parts that have a service life, but if they need to be replaced the manufacturer should try to keep costs reasonable. $2200 is a lot of money for an electric oil pump, and if I had known about this 3 months earlier I could have installed a mechanical LSD in my TC while having it rebuilt.

Damm. I remember on my '11 Ralliart after 1 yr owning it I had the AWD system needs service message go on my screen. I brought it in to Mitsubishi since its still under warranty and they replaced it, since its on there TSB/recall list. Since the unit is exposed to the snow, rust, salt, rocks etc. Its prone to get damaged to the point that it needs to be replaced. Just like having the AC pump go out, and the unit being more than a $1k and at times not in stock at the dealer. Its a real big pain in the ***. I had to use my car as a FWD till they got the ACD pump delivered to them.
